In addition to the badass members we have rolling through classes, the teachers and staff we've been gifted are beyond our wildest dreams! Today meet Jillian: a triple Capricorn who rocks our world with her organizational and admin skills. Jillian is also a beautiful teacher in her own right, and will be taking over the Tuesday 5:15pm Stretch + Meditate class, plus the Wednesday 12:30pm Stretch class.

A little more about Jillian's journey...


Tell us the story of how you first came to or discovered the practice you teach. Where were you in your life? What were the circumstances?

I met my teacher, Meital Bat Or, and she passed on information to me that I felt moved to explore. Before studying with my teacher I thought inner peace came from external sources. 

Why did you decide to teach? What is your favorite gift that you receive from teaching?

Teaching has come into my life naturally and always brings me closer to myself - oneness. 

What “titles” do you assign to yourself now? As many as you like!

Yoga facilitator, meditation encourager, observer, actress, writer, artist, cat mom, friend, and lover. 

What is your current favorite daily personal practice, whether it is something you teach or not!

Wake up. Wash my face. Put on a face mask. Drink a cup of hot water with lemon and ginger. Meditate, chant, and journal for around 20 min.  Wash my face mask off. Oil pull and get ready for the day as it unfolds. I also follow the moon cycles and do ritual work accordingly. As of late, I use this workbook as a guide. 

What do you most want people to experience in your classes?

Become closer to yourself - oneness. 

Vinyasa translated means to go from one place to another. It does not mean “I am in the perfect down dog.” It is to ask myself, am I present inside every movement on this journey into the asana? Is my goal to raise my arms up over my head? Or am I feeling present as my arms rise? Am I attached to my thoughts? Or am I present in the movement?  There is a difference between doing an asana and being inside of an asana.  With asana, like life, I have a wish to be inside of it. If I am connected to my thoughts/goals than I cannot be with myself - oneness.  If I am inside the asana I am apart of oneness.  It is my wish that students experience this sensation. 

What is one current mantra or intention you are working with?

I release force. I welcome ease. I am that. 

What does “Rebel” mean to you?

Independent of expectation. Listening to your inner guide. Growing from the inside out.
