The road to contentment is paved in gratitude

Many of us find ourselves on a hamster wheel of achieving... more, more, more is often the name of the game. We can easily get caught in a trap of wanting more things, more opportunities, more from our relationships... just MORE. Althought growth and change are fundamental aspects of our human experience, the desire fro some future fulfillment can become a trap that keeps us from being in the experience of our life in the present moment. Additionally, we often overlook how much we already have... much of which may have once been only dreamed of!

The key to contentment in the present moment is having gratitude for where we are and what we have. When we wake up each day we can take a moment to acknowledge just 3-4 things that we are grateful for. As we move through our days and find ourselves slipping into "wanting", pausing to recognize gratitude for present experiences can bring us back to the present moment and a sense of peace. Additionally, sometimes shifting out of our usual routine so that we can come back to it with a fresh perspective can be all we need to return to a core feeling of contentment and appreciation.
