Legs up the Wall for Pain and Stress Reduction

Anyone that knows me or has worked with me (Ashlee) knows that this is my go-to, magic, fix-it-all. This pose helps reduce lower back pain after an extended period of standing or sitting (think long flight or strenuous hike) and helps to settle your busy, to-do-list-making mind. It also helps lower blood pressure, breathe deeper, and gravity can do it’s thing to send blood and lymph back the opposite direction.

Find a wall and sit down with one hip up against the wall. Seriously...get close. As you lay down on your back, let your legs swing up on the wall so they are straight up. If your hips have come away from the wall, wiggle yourself back in close. Don’t worry if this doesn’t feel graceful. Channel your inner rollie-pollie. Lay here for at least 5 minutes. 10 is where the magic happens. Grab a cocktail, call a friend, scroll your Insta-feed. Enjoy!
