How can I take more responsibility for my thoughts, emotions, and energy?

No doubt, many of us are feeling that it is an intense time to be alive. We are overwhelmed and overloaded with painful and challenging realities, catastrophic headlines, and a never-ending barrage of opinions and arguments. Now more than ever, we have a responsibility to be mindful to our thoughts, emotions, and energy. Rather than letting our knee-jerk outrage take over, how can we make space to be present with our thoughts and feelings in response to what we see, bear witness to the suffering around us, and choose to intentionally offer our healing presence in big and small ways. Can I devote my day to being unceasingly kind to everyone I meet? Can I honestly evaluate the adjustments I can make in my life to support the change I wish to see? 
When we feel helpless to change the things we see around us, we can begin by changing ourselves and the way we respond. 
MANTRA: I choose my thoughts and feelings as an intentional offering of love and healing to the world around me.
